Welcome to March's edition of the Flannery Plant Hire LinkedIn Newsletter!
March has been a standout month for Flannery, defined by progress, partnership and people. From major investments in our fleet and facilities, to milestones in training, skills development and industry engagement, it's been a period that reflects both the scale of our ambition and the values that continue to drive us forward.
This edition highlights some of the key moments from the past month - showcasing innovation in action, collaboration across the industry, and the people at the heart of everything we do.
One depot doesn't define the North - a connected network does.
Warrington is now home to Flannery's Northern Super Hub, a 7.5-acre site that acts as the anchor point for our additional depots across the region. As our Northern HQ, the site strengthens our ability to operate at scale, respond quickly, and support major projects across the North.
The new super hub features a brand new training centre, creating opportunities for local people while supporting the development of a skilled, future-ready workforce. Combined with one of the most advanced fleets in the industry, the site is designed to deliver the capacity, reliability and service our customers expect from Flannery.
This investment marks a major step forward for our Northern operations and signals our continued focus on growth, capability and long-term regional commitment.

New Fleet Investment
Flannery has added the first fully electric BOMAG GmbH BW213e Roller to the hire fleet, marking another important step in our transition towards cleaner, quieter construction solutions.
Delivering proven 13-ton class performance with zero on-site emissions, reduced noise and full-shift capability, the BW213e is ideally suited to urban and environmentally sensitive projects. It's introduction reflects our continued investment in innovation that delivers real, practical benefits on site.
Commenting on the milestone, Patrick Flannery, Managing Director, said:
Sustainability and innovation are central to how we operate, and it's important we invest in proven technology that delivers real environmental benefits without compromising performance.
The addition also highlights the strength of our ongoing collaboration with BOMAG GmbH, supporting the delivery of more sustainable plant solutions across the industry.

This month, Flannery welcomed Leader of the Opposition, Kemi Badenoch to our Wembley Office
Along with Shadow Secretary of State Richard Holden and representatives from the Road Haulage Association (RHA) including David Boot, Chart.PR, UK Director of Public Affairs and Policy to our Wembley Office for an on-site visit focused on the realities facing the construction, logistics and transport sectors.
The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the scale and complexity of Flannery's operations, including the coordination required to deliver major infrastructure projects safely and efficiently. Discussions covered a range of pressures currently impacting the industry, alongside the importance of maintaining high standards across fleet, compliance and operations.

The visit also highlighted Flannery's continued investment in skills development, training facilities and workforce progression, demonstrating how industry can support both immediate project delivery and long-term capability building.
Open, direct engagement of this kind helps ensure the challenges and opportunities within our sector are well understood, and supports constructive dialogue around future infrastructure delivery.
Flannery and the Operator Skills Hub, working closely in partnership with Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB), have reached a significant milestone - with 650 learners completing the Skills Bootcamp in Plant Operations.
Delivering alongside our JV partner Eiffage Kier Ferrovial BAM (EKFB) and HS2 (High Speed Two) Ltd, the programme has utilised innovative mobile training hubs, bringing the skills development directly to live project environments. This approach reflects a shared commitment to making high-quality training accessible, relevant and aligned with real industry needs.
Nationally, over 2000 learners have now completed Flannery-delivered Skills Bootcamps, with pass rates exceeding 81%, highlighting both the quality of the training and the appetite for clear pathways into construction careers.
This milestone reinforces the strength of our partnership with EKFB and our shared focus on building a skilled, confident and future-ready workforce. A sincere thank you to EKFB and in particular Santiago Daniele, Programme Director, and Timothée Scherer, Deputy project Director, for their continued collaboration and support.
Together, we're creating meaningful opportunities and long-term outcomes for the next generation entering the construction industry.

Flannery Operator Success
Two of Flannery's operators enjoyed an unforgettable VIP experience JCB Headquarters following their success at the CPA - Construction Plant-hire Association Stars of the Future Awards 2025.
Molly Gill, named Young Plant Operator of the Year, and James Grant, awarded Plant Operator of the Year, were invited to JCB's world-class facilities where they toured the Story of JCB, took part in the Backhoe Loader dig experience hospitality as the JCB Golf & Country Club.

Reflecting on the visit, James described it as,
One of the best days I've had in the industry.
While Molly called the experience
Eye-opening and unforgettable.
As part of their award prizes, both operators also completed additional CPCS training with ACOP Group - with Molly achieving her Telehandler qualification, and James securing Wheeled 360, Tracked Dumper and Wheeled Dumper certifications. These achievements further support their development and long-term progression within the industry.
A huge thank you to JCB, CPA - Construction Plant Hire Association, ACOP Group, and Lisa Collins, and everyone involved in recognising the next generation of plant operators. It's brilliant example of how industry collaboration helps talent thrive.

More than a striking piece of plant
The Air Ambulance wrapped JCB 145X represents a powerful collaboration between Flannery, Awesome Earthmovers and Skanska, united in support of the lifesaving work carried out by Air Ambulances UK.
First unveiled at Plantworx the machine quickly attracted attention sparked important conversations around awareness, collaboration and shared responsibility. Since then, it has been brought onto Skanska's site, allowing us to further share the story behind the initiative and the cause it supports.
A special thank you to Skanska - not only for supporting filming on site, but also for their generosity in agreeing to donate a percentage of the machine hire cost, with Flannery proudly matching the contribution. This shared approach reflects a genuine commitment to supporting a charity that makes a critical difference every day.
We would also like to thank Awesome Earthmovers, whose support was central to bringing this project to life.
A powerful partnership.
A vital charity.
A project we're incredibly proud to be part of.

St Patrick's Day, Celebrating our Roots and Heritage
As March drew to a close, Flannery proudly marked St Patrick's Day - a moment to celebrate the strong Irish heritage that has shaped our business from the very beginning.
Our roots in Ireland continue to influence who we are today: a family-led organisation built on hard work, integrity, community and ambition. Those values remain at the heart of how we operate, how we support our people, and how we work with partners across the industry.
From our depots and sites to our teams across the UK, St Patrick's Day was a chance to reflect on the journey we've taken, recognise the contribution of those who came before us, and celebrate the shared culture that connects us all at Flannery.
As we look ahead, that heritage continues to inspire us - driving progress, opportunity and growth, while staying true to the values that matter most.
A fitting way to close another strong chapter for Flannery.
